So You Think You Can Skate in support of Grandparents Day!

SAVE THE DATE! So You Think You Can Skate along with We Are One Youth Foundation is in support of Grandparents day Sunday, September 9, 2018 to honor grandparents, to give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children's children, and to help children become aware of strength, information, and guidance older people can offer.  The first people to advocate for Grandparent's day were Hermine Beckett Hanna and Marian McQuade who independently of one another, petitioned Congress and the American people, to recognize the strengths and achievements of older Americans, In 1973 Senator Jennings Randolph introduced legislation that would recognize the first Sunday after Labor Day, as National Grandparents Day. Five years later, President Jimmy Carter signed a proclamation 4580 in 1978.: National Black Theater 2031 Fifth Avenue. Sponsored by Gale A. Brewer, Manhattan Borough President. Come out and support Grandparents Day!
